My target Audience Research.

Before I started my magazine I roughly new what music I was going to feature in it so, I could get a rough idea of whom my target audience would consist of. Instead of just sending out surveys, I wanted to get to know my target audience and really know what they wanted. So, I looked out for local gigs of which would play similar music to the genre of music featuring in my magazine. Lucky for me, a gig was being played at a local venue called Sea Breeze. I attended it and it was full of people I believe were my target audience. So, I got speaking to some of the people asking them what they would want to feature in the magazine, what bands, what they would like to see on the front cover, contents page and double page spread and what type of article they would like to read.
After actually going to a gig and getting involved with my audience I knew that the age would range roughly between 14 - 25. As 14 is the youngest age to get into a gig and 25 because these gigs are very violent and the older ones know their chances of getting hurt. I also found that my audience loved going to gigs and went to them on a regular bases. Bearing this is mind I will include a chance to win gig tickets on the front.
The guys at Sea Breeze also said they would like to read an article in an the way on an interview and with not a lot of text. They also said that they think the pictures should be taken some where like a grave yard as they said it would look 'cool'.
After going to this gig I got invited to go to an 18TH party of one of the people there. Here I took drafts of my front cover and article to get feedback. Here I got some really helpful feedback like my article needed to be more 'edgy'.
I finally put up my three products on a relevant bands Face Book page to get feedback. All the feedback generally was positive.
